Payment Policy

Our Payment Policy

We request that every client be prepared to pay for services at the time they are rendered.  It is the client’s responsibility to budget appropriately and to request an estimate prior to services being rendered.

The hospital accepts cash, personal checks, VISA®, MasterCard®, Discover Card® and ATM/Debit Cards as forms of payment.

For security reasons, when making payment(s) with a card, it is preferred that the physical card be present.

We cannot accept bartering of services or hold checks as a form of payment.

Financially, the hospital is not able to bear the burden of losses associated with client charge accounts, including the checking of each client’s credit rating and the sending of monthly statements.

Rather than raise our fees as much as five percent to cover a charge system, this hospital prefers to keep our fees as reasonable as possible.

If financial problems exist, please make arrangements with your bank or finance company to cover services rendered prior to proceeding with your appointment.

In cases where accounts are not paid in full, statements will be sent out each month with all applicable fees added.   A complete list of terms and fees will be provided to any persons unable to pay their balance in full prior to the close of the business day on the first statement.

  • The veterinarian is authorized to examine, prescribe for, and/or treat owners pet(s).
  • Full payment for all fees or services rendered at the time the pet is discharged from the hospital.
  • A person is exempt from all discounts and promotions if the account balance is not paid in full prior to the animal being discharged and/or if payment is rejected by the financial institution all discounts previously applied are retroactively abolished and are added to the new outstanding balance.
  • Paris Veterinary Associates does not accept post dated or hold checks.
  • A fee of up to $35.00 may be charged for each returned check, and monthly for nonpayment, and/or late payments, and up to %15.99 percent interest charge on outstanding balances.
  • The client will pay for the entirety of the costs of collection in the event that collection efforts become necessary.
  • In consideration of the services rendered by Paris Veterinary Associates, the owner grants a contractual lien to Paris Veterinary Associates on the animal to secure payment of the amounts due to Paris Veterinary Associates for the treatments of said pet/animal. Paris Veterinary Associates retains the right to withhold, and/or retrieve from an owner's possession and withhold the animal from their possession at the owner's expense if owner is unable to pay the balance in full.
  • If an animal is not picked up within 5 days of the discharge/invoice date and owner does not notify Paris Veterinary Associates within, or before the end of that time period, PVA may assume that the animal is abandoned and owner authorizes PVA to process them as we deem best and/or necessary, and agree to pay all associated fees related to their care.
  • This policy may be updated at any time and retroactively applied to my account if at the time the changes are made to the policy I have an account balance greater than zero dollars.
